For years, movie stars have looked for challenging roles in low-budget dramas made outside Hollywood’s studios, but in recent months they have taken their acts to edgy music videos from independent bands to explore their dark sides.
George Grimaldis shares a 1961 Chevrolet commerical that was animated by artist, Eyvind Earle. Mr.Earle was a Disney animator that famously designed the beautiful artwork in Sleeping Beauty. He started his own production company around 1960, and this Chevrolet piece (the first spot he produced) was created in about two weeks for $16,000. You probably can’t get more red, white, and blue- apple pie eating- patriotic than this…Happy 4th of July.
This is Burberry Beijing - April 2011. They used some awesome projection effects, including using real models and projected models in order to play with the audience’s perceptions. The Dusty Springfield songs are as gorgeous as the projections.
In recognition of the surreal vision and original voice of this provocative, young Polish video artist, the Museum of Arts and Design presents Anna Molska, Human Material as the next installment of its Never Dark Initiative, a perpetual-play cinema series in the MAD Theater. The series debuted in March with What is on the Outside, a survey of the work of Julika Rudelius. Anna Molska, Human Material will run from July 6 through October 7, 2012.
“Windows" from Gaza for Contemporary Art invites artists from all over the globe to participate in Gaza’s International Festival for Video Art 2012. Candidates should first subscribe to Festival’s Website by creating accounts and filling in personal data before uploading the video. Participating works must be artistic videos only – not documentary nor trial works, and no longer than 10 minutes. Contents of participating works should not by any means, explicitly or implicitly, promote any violent or inappropriate scenes, thoughts or incitement , and not include any illegal contents. Submitted works should be in harmony and appropriate to the Palestinian culture.
